NEW AR Coating from Signet Armorlite


Signet Armorlite has introduced a new superior multi-layered anti-reflection lens coating which has a larger contact angle and lower surface energy than standard AR coatings.

Through extensive research and development Signet Armorlite has created EzyClean, the super-hydrophobic and oleophobic HMAR coating. EzyClean actively repels water with a much higher ‘contact angle’ and a greatly reduced ‘roll off angle’ than standard AR coated lenses. The oleophobic properties provide a resistance to oil, causing it to ‘bead up’ in the same way water does with hydrophobic properties. This allows easy cleaning, with less chance of scratching and less oil being deposited on the lens when touched.

As well as helping patients to keep lenses grease and dirt free, Ezyclean also protects against the wear and tear caused by everyday cleaning.

EzyClean improves the cosmetic appearance of the lenses, retains clarity of vision, reduces ‘ghost’ images, improves scratch resistance and can extend the lifespan of patients’ lenses.
